Alarm Systems
Home Alarm Systems are the components that you use to warm you if there is an intruder.
Effectiveness of Home Alarm Systems
I am writing this as a service to homeowners. I spent a good part of my life as a criminal and I specialized in breaking and entering houses. After finally being caught and spending some time in prison, I decided to use my experience and knowledge for good and inform the public as to how they can avoid home invasions. Briefly, by far the easiest and most effective way to deter robberies is to install home alarm systems.
When a criminal is intending to rob a house, he will generally case an entire neighborhood for potential targets. He looks for telltale signs that a house would be easy to rob – large bushes concealing entry points, mail or newspapers piling up indicating that the occupants are out of town, and most importantly, no indication that the house has an alarm system. If there is a little alarm company sign out front, stickers on the windows, or an exterior control panel, burglars simply move on.
These days, alarm systems are very high-tech but incredibly user friendly. One alarm system can be configured to operate lights, radios and televisions to give the house the appearance of being occupied. Others allow remote access to the system through a cell phone. Perhaps you and your family are returning from a night out and as you pull into your driveway, you think you may have seen activity inside the house. You can call a number on your cell phone and suddenly the lights inside your house all turn on and hopefully anyone inside is frightened away. There are even home alarm systems that can monitor the carbon dioxide levels in your home, provide a level of security for the elderly or ill with alert systems for health concerns, and even let you know when children return safely from school.
In addition, please keep in mind that home security alarm systems are only effective if they are activated. So many people have a tendency to inadequately secure their home during working hours because they feel like nothing would happen in broad daylight. The fact is that most home invasions occur during the day for the very reason that most people are at work so the chance of being noticed is actually reduced during the day. Home alarm systems – if used diligently – will prevent robberies day and night.
